Wanda Gorlero and Giuseppe Zago began their hotel career by purchasing "Albergo Moroso".
Hotel Bellevue et Mediterranée was founded in 1950, born from a love story between Wanda Gorlero and Giuseppe Zago.
Our grandmother Wanda helped her family harvest olives and work in the fields, but her entrepreneurial spirit was already evident. Our grandfather Giuseppe came from a family of hoteliers in Alessandria. Sadly, he passed away prematurely, leaving our grandmother to manage the business alone—but not for long.
She was soon joined by her son Roberto, who supported her in running the family hotel and brought important improvements through expansions and constant innovation.
Wanda Gorlero Zago was one of the first female entrepreneurs in Ligurian tourism. In 1974, she was awarded the national title “Lady of Hospitality”, and in 2000, the President of the Republic named her Commendatore.
Our loyal guests and those who knew her fondly remember Wanda—her smile, her warmth, and her determined spirit.
Our grandmother left behind a beautiful legacy and a path that we, her grandchildren, continue to follow with the same passion.

The hotel was renovated and renamed "Hotel Bellevue".
Major renovation works were carried out.
During the economic boom, the hotel expanded continuously.
Next to the main five-storey building, a new three-storey wing was built. The hotel officially became “Hotel Bellevue et Mediterranée”.
The tradition continues with the new generation.
